Noticing Change – Diet Day 9

While yesterday’s clothes fitting experience was exciting it was largely something that only I would be able to recognize. After all, a week is too soon for noticeable changes to appear right? Today would be a test of that theory.

The last time my daughter Mallorie and her husband James saw me was the first day I began this diet. Now here I was just over a week later and we were to meet them at a soccer game. I was curious whether they would see any physical difference in just a week.

Granted, I didn’t really set this up as a fair test. The weather in Arizona turned unseasonably cool and we would be outside so I had on a sweatshirt and a jacket. During the game nothing was said making me think that there really wasn’t a large enough change yet to be noticeable.

As we returned home I took off my jacket and sweatshirt. Almost immediately Mallorie exclaimed, “Oh my gosh dad, you’ve lost weight!” I don’t think I could have been any happier. Someone who didn’t really know what I was doing saw a positive difference.

The days of drinking 8 pounds of water and eating snacks make of powder and water were suddenly worth it. Granted I was already happy with the changes myself but it’s sometimes nice to notice.

Hopefully this is just the first of these kinds of comments I will be hearing as I continue to be on this program and make my way to a healthier way of life.
